Chardonne: Caveau portes ouvertes

It doesn't get much better than a sunny, warm (20degrees!) day spent in a village celebrating the wine harvest by opening all the 'caveau' (wine cellars) to visitors. The village of Chardonne is perched on the hillside above Vevey (home of Nestle and home to Charlie Chaplin in his last years).

Some lovely wines although Swiss wines tend to be simple and best for the table.
It's the place and the vibe that make the day wonderful.
That's why we're letting the photos speak for themselves.
Sante!

2nd Anniversary - Toblerone Trail & Annecy

Wonda and I spent the whoooollle weekend together for our 2nd anniversary (of being married). The weekends are more precious this summer because Wonda is working and staying up in Leysin through the week, so we only see each other on the weekends.

Ireland - June 2010

As green as promised ... however ... 12 days and no more than a drizzle. A few days of blazing 20C and no wind. Who would have thought that was even possible on the Emerald Isle?
We found the people to be genuinely friendly, easy-going and welcoming.

until Wonda writes a better posting ...

hey... long time since we posted anything up here. So, we've also put up 2 new albums: one about the apartment (for you Bene) and one of Barcelona, a truly super-vibed city.

Christmas Break in Thailand

Ken HAD to go to Thailand for work from 10-18 December. We thought it was a great chance for both of us to have a tropical Christmas vacation

December in Scotland

Ken is moving along with his Doctorate ( he just got home from a week of classes at the University in Glasgow, Scotland). He's re-energized and getting into his research with gusto.
This time I was fortunate enough to be able to join Ken for a few days.

Alex&Christiane Visit (Oct31 2009)

Alex and Christiane visited us over the last weekend in October. It was their first time leaving Liv for more than a few hours. They survived okay and even got to sleep in.

Brian and Ellie’s visit

Our visit with Ellie and Brian in October was great... we were all over the place and often with a picnic and wine in tow!
