Ken HAD to go to Thailand for work from 10-18 December. We thought it was a great chance for both of us to have a tropical Christmas vacation
so bought a plane ticket for Wonda. While Ken was working that week, Wonda was in Bangkok learning some new Thai cooking tricks. She's an 'expert' now with a certificate, so let her know if you're interested in a Thai meal (you like spicy?) the next time you visit us.
When Ken's dad heard about Xmas in Thailand he offered to join us. It was a great idea and we spent 12 relaxing and fun days together. Who knew my dad was such a shopper? With Wonda's supportive advice my dad managed to buy so many new things that he also had to buy a new, larger suitcase to get his fortune home. He'll be the smartest looking guy you see next summer!
Some highlights...
We motored up the river in Bangkok to reach the Royal Grand Palace
We had beachfront bungalows on the quietest beach with the softest sand and gentlest waves
We ate... oh man, did we eat.
We went for drives in the rental car that scared our pants off.
Wonda and I went kayaking on the calm waters of the bay.
We played lots of Yahtzee and Wonda won most of the time.
We went for a hike up to a waterfall and met a toad on the way down.
We had fish eat the dead skin off of our feet.
We saw glorious sunsets.
