Wonda and I spent the whoooollle weekend together for our 2nd anniversary (of being married). The weekends are more precious this summer because Wonda is working and staying up in Leysin through the week, so we only see each other on the weekends.
On Saturday we took the little train from Nyon up to the village of Le Muids and then walked down through the fields and woods back down to Gland. For much of the way we walked along the Toblerone Trail. We finished off the day with a barbecue and a walk down to Lake Geneva.
We left early on Sunday to take the bus to nearby Annecy, France. Some call it 'little Venice' because of the few canals that sneak through the old city. Sunday is market day so our eyes and noses were delighted by the delectable decadence on display. We ate a marvelous pot of mussels for lunch and continued walking around a bit, but spent most of the afternoon in the park by the lake eating some of the market treats and drinking a lovely bottle of white wine from the region -- acidic with a fruity bouquet including hints of pineapple. Ask Wonda for name and type ...
